Level II NDD Transformation Residency

From Understanding Narrative Driven Design to Practicing It

Level II is the second stage of the Narrative Driven Design educational pathway.

It is designed for participants who completed Level I and demonstrated the intellectual curiosity, discipline, and design maturity required to move from exposure into transformation.

This residency shifts the participant from observer of the framework to active practitioner.

Participants will be challenged to apply Narrative Driven Design as a working methodology through real design exercises, psychological analysis, spatial narrative construction, and critique sessions.

This is where NDD stops being an idea and becomes a design instrument.

Residency Focus

During this residency participants will work on:

• Translating emotional needs into spatial concepts

• Applying the Seven Emotional Seeds framework

• Narrative heat mapping exercises

• Dramatic spatial structuring

• Design Clinic diagnostic thinking

• Real project simulation workshops

• Group critique and design debates

Participants will also experience the tension between aesthetics and meaning — the central conflict NDD attempts to resolve.

What Makes Level II Different

Level I introduces the philosophy.

Level II demands its application.

Participants are expected to think, question, test, and defend design decisions based on narrative logic rather than taste or trend.

This residency is intellectually demanding and requires full engagement.

Eligibility

Level II is not open enrollment.

Eligibility is based on:

• Completion of Level I

• Demonstrated engagement during residency

• Design thinking potential

• Commitment to deeper practice

Eligible participants may apply after Level I completion.

Outcome
